My dad's voice

I'm promising you guys that I'll soon load some new videos of my father on this blog. Over the course of the last 2 years of his life we did some videos, purposely, with the intention of preserving his image, voice and most importantly, his real personality. While I haven't watched most of the videos yet I have skimmed over sections, just to make sure the videos were taken properly, and I think you'll be happy with the result.

In some ways we're all lucky these days. With modern technology we have the opportunity to preserve our lives and the lives of those we love. Pick up that digital camera and camcorder and start recording. Just do a little here and there, because some day you'll be so happy you saved some of your life in a permanent record.

Literally millions and millions of people have lived active, rich and rewarding lives, but their entire legacy resides on a piece of granite in some long forgotten cemetary. Their images and voices will never be heard again. All of their decendants can only imagine who their great-great grandfather was and what he sounded like and how he laughed and talked.

Today, with the help of digital camcorders and cameras and a little bit of technical knowledge, we can live on past the grave. Don't believe me? Click on the top link entitled "Just Me" and listen to my dads voice. He is instantly right there by your side again. At least he is for me.

I promise to load those videos as soon as possible. I think we'll all enjoy them and it will make us feel like we're there with my father again.
